A Divine Appointment
Last Friday morning, I felt prompted to send a thank-you note.
One of our monthly business partners, Pick Up Pals, has been faithfully supporting FOUND for months now.
So I gathered our most recent newsletters, wrote a handwritten note, tucked everything into a brown envelope, and set it in my car to mail after my lunch meeting.
At lunch, the woman I was meeting with spotted a friend walking in to the restaurant and waved her over to our table.
As she approached, she looked at me and smiled like she recognized me.
Then she said, "Hi, I'm Loreann with Pick Up Pals."
I immediately felt tears welling up in my eyes.
I had never met her before.
In fact, I didn't even know how Pick Up Pals had first heard about FOUND. Yet there she was, standing beside my table just a few hours after I had written a thank-you note addressed to her company.
I told her what I had done that morning, and we both laughed at the timing.
Some people might call that coincidence.
God gently reminded me that He is paying attention.
He knows our need.
And He reminded me that every gift comes from a person who has chosen to believe in the mission.
What also struck me is the impact of consistency.
Pick Up Pals doesn't simply support FOUND once and move on. They have chosen to invest financially month after month in students and educators throughout our community.
That dependable support allows us to say "yes" more often.
Yes to a child who needs shoes.
Yes to a student who needs hygiene items.
Yes to a teacher trying to meet needs in their classroom.
Yes to opportunities we couldn't pursue otherwise.
As we prepare for a new school year, we're looking for more businesses, churches, and individuals who would consider becoming monthly partners with FOUND.
Recurring support creates stability. It allows us to plan ahead, respond quickly when needs arise, and serve more students throughout the year.
Consistently.
So today, I'm grateful for Pick Up Pals.
I'm grateful for faithful partners.
And I'm grateful for a God who has a way of bringing people together from just around the corner at exactly the right time.
