He’s my friend. And He’s my Father.

This is Karen.

I bought bracelets from her.

I loved her spirit.

I knew I needed to know her story.

I just wasn’t sure how to draw it out.

As I paid for the bracelets, I said “Do you work every day?”

She said “Not on Sunday.”

I said “You go to church?”

She said “Yes ma’am.”

I said “You know Jesus?”

She said

“He’s my friend. And He’s my Father.”

It was so powerful and pure that I instantly got tears in my eyes.

I said without thinking (because I wanted to know more) “How did you find him....I mean how did He find you?” She smiled big. Real big. And said “Oh He was never lost.”

We all laughed.

Touché, Karen.

She said “I’ve been walking with Him a long time. I lost my mom when I was 14. I was the second oldest child of 8.”

She told the story of how she realized SHE was found. She told us how they worship here. Sundays start with two hours of singing.

Then one hour of prayer....

”And then we start church.”

She said she talks to people about Jesus all day every day.

She has been walking this beach in the Bahamas for 30 years. With Jesus.

How cool of our God to let us sit with her and hear her story.
