Shoes

We were close to closing up The Hub yesterday when we got a text from a campus contact nearby. She has a lot of support so she doesn’t need snacks very often, but sometimes she has special requests. We ALWAYS love to see her face. It’s clear that she enjoys her job and adores the kids she serves.

The request was for a size 7 boys shoe. We weren’t sure if she was sure that’s what he needed because that’s pretty tiny. But that’s exactly what he needed. He was trying to learn to walk, and his shoes didn’t fit so they were preventing his progress. Especially because a disability was involved.

When we sent her a pic of two pair of shoes that might work, she confirmed we had the right size and rushed over to grab them, told us the story (she made it before we closed), and then sent pics of him standing tall in his “new” shoes within minutes of leaving The Hub.

It was a pretty precious way to end a fulfilling morning of giving out your donations to local schools. We’ve served more schools this week than any week before. The needs are growing, and we couldn’t do what we do without your support.

THANK YOU LBK
