This Story Hasn’t Changed

We shared the words below one year ago, and we could write it all again today. We still struggle to keep up with the need for snacks, as we continue to grow and hear more about why kids are hungry. It’s heartbreaking! Please share with those who might want to be part of the solution. It’s simple.

We are giving out about 700 snack bags a week right now. These bags consist of 2 chewy granola bars, 2 fruit snack packs, 2 beef sticks, and 2 packages of peanut butter crackers. That’s 8 little snacks in a quart sized bag designed to help a hungry student feel supported, feel like they have choices, and give them confidence to know that their basic needs will be met at school. This is not a weekend snack bag. It’s for kids who show up on Tuesday and haven’t eaten since lunch on Monday.

Recently we asked one campus why there are so many kids who are so hungry that a simple snack bag with only a few options would make such a difference. Our campus contact said there are many different explanations for why a kid might be truly hungry. To sum it up … life is hard. They have to buy a tire so mom can get to work instead of buying food. They are paying their own bills and living in survival mode. Their parents are telling them that food stamps haven’t come in yet so they have to be patient.

Regardless of the WHY… anyone standing in front of a hungry child would want to feed them. So we do.

Thank you for your support. Your snacks are needed now more than ever!! Anything your kids/grandkids would eat is exactly what we need. You can shop and drop at 8207 Ithaca Ave suite B • lobby is open 24/7 so drop off at your convenience or use our Amazon link in bio.
